Last Doctors appointment

I had another appointment with the Hemotologist and he explained to me that my spleen was only sighly enlarged based on the latest CAT scan. That means it has gone down in size. He also said that my blood work all looks normal. So that means that there is not way I have cancer. The doctor said that most likely I had/have some sort of infection and my spleen has been working very hard to fix it. It seems like my body is winning so all I have to do now is let the body keep working.

I have been feeling a lot better so that makes sense with the diagnosis. I have also seen a Wellness Doctor who has me taking a bunch of herbs to help my body work better. Between all of this, I think the situation is pretty much solved.

August 24th Wellness Doctor

I was referred to a Wellness Doctor in Laguna Beach so I decided to go see him. It can’t hurt. He ran some different types of tests on me. He hooked me up to a computer that tested the resonance of my organs. Sick or not working organs change their resonance according to him. He also did some other strength tests to check how all my organs were functioning. He is going to combine this data with my blood tests to give a complete picture of what is not working and how it can be treated.

He did tell me that is appears my lymph system is not draining properly which is probably causing the spleen to enlarge. He also indicated that there is a good chance that I have microscopic bacteria in my blood. He is confident he can give me an herbal remedy that will make this all go away. Who knows?

August 19th Hematology appt

Went to see the Hematologist on the 19th. He took a look at everything and sent me for more tests. He said his job is to find out what is making the spleen large. He will be checking for types of cancer, weird things going on in the blood, and other irregularities. He does not think it is cancer nor an infection. He actually did not seem very confident he was going to find the problem with the spleen. He said many times it is near impossible to figure out so in those cases it must be removed. He tried start getting me used to living without a spleen.

He started by doing some blood tests. If everything looks good there, we will go get a CAT scan on the chest, abdomen and pelvis. He will look for large lymph nodes and anything else that seems weird plus compare the size of the spleen to the last CAT scan. If that all looks good then we will do some bone marrow tests. If those turn out ok, he is out of tests to do and will recommend that I get it removed. I will proceed with the tests as planned. If we get to the end of the tests without anything weird going on, I will be seeking other opinions as I do not want to remove my spleen if possible.

How i am feeling and Google research

On August 10th I started taking Probiotics and Green Tea extract to replace the medicines that I was taking. The meds I was on were to regulate my bowel movements and they helped but not that much. I have also noticed that eating foods that cause bloating do not help. I try and stay away from certain vegetables and carbs that make my stomach heavy. Eating light and frequently is often the best thing I can be doing for myself.

I have also noticed a link between feeling sick and my emotional state. When I have a bad day in which my stomach is very uncomfortable, I am always very depressed. Part of me goes to a very dark lonely place. I feel afraid, alone and helpless. While this is happening the more logical side of my is confused because it does not make sense. I have a very good life except for this stupid spleen and I have a lot of people who love me a lot. Its almost like it’s a chemical unbalance that happens.

Google has been teaching me a lot about the causes of an enlarged spleen. Based on my research, the possibilities seem like I can have some sort of infection (viral, bacterial or parasitic), some sort of lymphoma (unlikely), or some sort of blood cancer (unlikely). August 14th Appointment

Meet with Dr. Brozinsky (sp?) who is a gastro internist. Reviewed history with him. He did a physical exam and decided that it would be better to see a hematologist. The doctor was much more concerned by the size of my spleen than by the trouble I have been having with eating and digesting the foold. The Hematologist would better be able to diagnose the reason the spleen was so large.

History

History of my condition -
July 08 – Loss of appetite for periods of 1-2 weeks. Also, feelings of anxiety during the same time. I believed the loss of appetite to be anxiety related.

Nov 08 – Food poisoning for 4 days. Day one, vomit and diarrhea. Day two to four, loss of appetite and I could not eat fast. It took about one hour to eat a piece of bread and drink a glass of water. Uncomfortable stomach the whole time.

Dec 08 to June 08 – Periodic loss of appetite for periods of 1-2 weeks about every two months. Feeling of fullness during those times.

June 08 - Got the flu for 3-4 days. Fever, cold symptoms and not feeling good at all.

Approx July 1st – More extreme loss of appetite and uncomfortable stomach. Worse in the morning.

Approx July 5th – Doctor appointment. Started taking Pemex, Riopan and Netaphim to help digestion and reduce stomach acid. Also started diet without milk and alcohol.

Approx July 17th – Took endoscopy and found a lump from outside my stomach pushing into my stomach. Got a CAT scan and found that my spleen is about 2x’s as big as normal. Started taking Libertrum SII to help bowl work better.

Approx July 20th – Took blood, stool and urine tests. Tests reviled large amounts of E. Coli in my gastro and urinary tracks. Started taking antibiotic to get rid of bacteria.

Approx July 21st to date – Started to feel regular on a more consistent basis. I have noticed that regular meals throughout the day produce less stomach discomfort. Eating too much in one sitting can cause a large amount of discomfort. Stopped taking meds around August 4th and only took riopan on a per need basis.
